Never a dull moment with K2...

OK, I should totally write a book about my sweet little K2! She is definitely the fun one in our house, as well as the most challenging! She is starting her career as a little con off early in life. Actually, I really don't think she intended for the outcome to happen today. I got a call around noon saying that K2 was sick and I needed to come and get her. They said that she said she didn't feel well and that she was running a low grade fever. I questioned it because she was perfectly fine this morning. When K3 and I arrived to pick her up, two older elementary girls nearly knocked us over as they were trying to squeeze through the office door with me. Come to find out, one of them had just thrown up all over themselves and the other was bringing her to the office. We get inside the office and they send this vomit covered girl (who just rubbed up against us) into the sick room, where K2 happened to be waiting. As I let the office know I'm there, K2 comes walking around the corner and I can tell by looking at her that she is perfectly fine! As we walked to the car, I asked her what was wrong. She said that she told her teacher she felt like she was going to throw up and they rushed her to the office and that was that. Remember a couple of weeks ago, she actually threw up in front of her class. Apparently, now her teacher is totally paranoid and any time K2 mentions throwing up, they are going to call me. I know she probably wasn't trying to con her teacher, but she did admit that she was just hungry. She hasn't felt feverish to me and honestly a lot of kids run 99 or so for no apparent reason. Anyways, needless to say, I was not too happy...mainly because now all 3 of us have been exposed to a real vomiting child.

This is the same child that nearly ended up in the ER this past Friday. We were at Target late in the evening and as we were walking in, I saw a penny in the parking lot. I told K2 to pick it up. About 2 minutes after we were in Target, I saw her with that nasty penny in her mouth. I told her if she did that again, I would take it away from her. I'm sure you can guess...about 2 minutes after that, she walked around the aisle where I was with a look of total panic and said, "I just swallowed my penny". After calling an urgent care nurse, we were all relieved to hear that it would more than likely pass through on its own. I've not seen it, but she has had no stomach issues, so I'm guessing it's long gone now. The funny thing is that after the incident, she blamed me and told me not to ever tell her to pick up a penny again!

In honor of my sweet little K2, here are some of my favorite pics of her through the years..most of them speak for themselves...ironically, people have always said that she has the most angelic look and I'd have to agree.

She was my only kid to take diapers off at nap...you never knew what you'd walk into after nap...(notice her diaper at the left)

Here she is suppose to be napping in her bed. She had got out of bed, put some black shoes on, put some hairbands around her neck and piled up some blankets and lap pads to lay on...

Move over Richard Simmons...

The patented look of mischief...

She may be a mess, but she's our mess and we wouldn't trade her for the world! WE LOVE YOU, K2!!! You fill our lives with such joy and happiness and bring more laughter and sunshine to our lives than we could ever have imagined!!!

This is for my mom...

I took this picture while my mom was here and it turned out really cute. The girls actually got into this pose by themselves.

When my mom was here, she bought each of them a new set of pj's, so after she left I took some pictures of them wearing them. Here is K3 in her new pj's...

Here is K2 wearing hers...

Here is K1 modeling hers...

Thanks again for the pj's! The girls love them! I know it's not as good as seeing them in person, but I hope you enjoy the pictures! We love you most!

Happy 60th Birthday, Papa!!!

Today is Bryan's dad's 60th birthday. We wish we could be there to celebrate with him! The girls made a special video for Papa, so watch and enjoy! This is our first experiment with posting a video, so please bare with us as we eventually work out all of the kinks. This one is a bit blurry, but we'll probably try several different ways of filming and uploading to see which is the smallest file size with the best quality. Here it goes...

For those of you with dial-up, please let me know if you are able to view the video without it timing out! HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PAPA! WE LOVE YOU!!!

Miss You Guys!

I've been meaning to email these pictures out to those of you in them. This is from our little 'going away' party before we moved. We really enjoyed spending that time with you before we left. I've got a few more pictures of a few of you, but hesitated to put them on because some are of your families and I didn't want to post pics of your kiddos without your permission. Our camera batteries died before the end of the night, so I wasn't able to get family pics of all of you. So, please send me some good photo Christmas cards...no pressure! Ha!

For those of you not in the picture, this is our small group from our old church. Actually, none of us went to that church anymore, but we still enjoyed hanging out together.

This is all the girls...

And, this is all the boys...if we really want to claim them...

By the way, yes, that is Bryan's brother behind him. He came with us a lot while he lived with us and became part of the crew.

We are so glad that God brought all of you into our lives and although it was a short period in the journey of our lives, we will forever be grateful for your friendship. We miss you all and can't wait to see you again!

Happy 80th Birthday, Grandmama!

Yesterday was busy, unlike all my other days where I just sit around eating bon-bons, watching Oprah, so I didn't get around to posting anything. Seriously, I don't know how people keep daily blogs. I'm typing this one at the kitchen table with K1 doing homework and K2 'pretending' to do hers. K1 has a spelling test and a social studies test tomorrow, so if I accidentally type a word that has the 'ink' or 'ing' sound in it, please forgive me! I am trying to multi-task, but being a perfectionist keeps me from being very good at multi-tasking. I do better when focusing on the task at hand.

Anyway, my grandmother and her twin sister turned 80 years old yesterday...Happy Birthday, ladies! I talked to both of them on the phone and they both say they are starting to feel their age, but they sure don't look it! I really hope that I get some of those genes and that I look half as good as they do when I'm 80! Take a look for yourself...here's my grandmother...4 generations represented here!

I have to admit, I have not been good at calling my grandmother and keeping in touch through the years. It's to the point that if I call her, it alarms her and she assumes something must be wrong. We've never lived in the same town and I grew up only seeing her about once a year. I've called her twice in the last week and a half and she has seemed so thrilled when I call...like it has just made her day! I should have been making the effort long before now and I hope that I will continue to put forth the effort, be it phone call or card, just to let her know I'm thinking about her. By the way, have you called your loved ones lately?

Starting School...

K1 started 2nd grade on August 25th. K2 started Kindergarten on August 28th. The school district here starts kindergarteners on a staggered day, so they can assess them. Then, all the kindergarteners officially started on September 2nd. K2 came home from school with the stomach virus on Friday, September 5th first thing in the morning and stayed home from school on Monday, too. She started her school career off with a bang!

Here is K1 on her first day of school...

Here is K2 on her first day of school...

The picture of the three of them is K2's first day of school...of course, K3 had to get her backpack on, too!

This is what K3 did after her big sisters left for school...

So sweet!

She misses them when they are gone and can't wait for them to be home, but I think she is definitely enjoying the one-on-one time with Mommy. We are having lots of fun with each other!

God has definitely prepared the way for us, because the girls have done wonderful with going to a new school and not knowing anyone there. I cannot brag enough about how great they've done. No tears, nothing...in fact, they have asked to ride the school bus home in the afternoons (it is the thing to do here) and they rode the bus home for the first time yesterday. All I can say is AMAZING...my little babies are definitely growing up!

Better late than never...

Well, I've finally joined the blogging world. I'm mainly starting this to help my family and friends keep up with the happenings in our lives. We've been pretty busy getting settled in our new house, but it is finally beginning to feel like home. For those of you who haven't seen pics yet, here it is...

The girls really seem to be settling in very well...much better than I ever expected! I am so happy that they have each other. They would never admit it, but I know it has helped to have a built-in friend in each other! Even though they have their typical sibling disagreements, they really are the best of friends!

I have lots to post, but don't think I'll overwhelm you on my first post. This way, maybe it'll keep you coming back for more. Check back later for pics from the first day of school...
